Birth Photography | Fresh 48
Yay, I’m so glad your here! How exciting a new baby on the way!
Please read the information below and let me know if you would like to move forward and talk about all the fun details!
How does it work?
I am on call 24/7 for two weeks before your due date right up until you go into labor, call me! It doesn’t matter if it’s 3 AM, I want to know. I will aim to be there about 3-6 hours before baby is expected to arrive, knowing full well that none of this can be predicted. I will record your labor from the moment I arrive, through your delivery, the amazing moments when you meet your precious baby, and the important details afterwards – weighing, footprints, parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.
Birth photography is amazingly beautiful, I will photograph only what you want, whether that is everything, or whether you only want the waist up, or something different – it is completely up to you! Ultimately, my job is to document your amazing story, and to follow the guidelines that you request.
What does it include?
Your birth photography includes the following:
Your pre-session consultation – we meet, and discuss your birth plan and photography.
I will be “on call” starting 2 weeks before your due date – no day trips, vacations etc! I will prioritize being at your birth. All other sessions booked around this time my clients will be notified that I am on call.
Processing of your images – many hours of going through photos, touching up, editing, and creating a story of precious moments from start to finish.
Typically 100-200+ (depending on length of labor and time spent at birth)
Full-resolution, edited images on custom flash drive for print and/or archival purposes
What about a C-section?
Pricing for a c-section is the same as for V-birth. I will meet you at the hospital, and document your story, through the delivery of your baby, and to your family’s first moments. I will also document as much of baby’s first moments – foot printing, first bath, weighing etc – as I possibly can.
It is important that we work together to manage expectations and to have clear communication with your doctor, admitting nurses and midwives to ensure I will be granted access to the delivery room. Communication is key, and if the doctors know how important this photography is to you, they are usually very kind to make my job easier.
Fresh 48 | Just born session
Your just born session (some call it fresh 48) is a great alternative if you’re not wanting the labor and delivery photographed, but would still like babies first moments captured. This is a great time to capture siblings and loved ones meeting baby for the first time. This is great for right after baby is born and your still in the hospital or when you take baby home and it the first 48 hours.
